In general, the iMac/GarageBand is a very easy route to go with recording. I've been using GarageBand exclusively for about three years now, and I have found no reason to look elsewhere for my recording needs. But, then again, I'm just a home recordist that does it for fun and not for profit.
So...whether or not the iMac is a good choice would really depend on your intentions...

Mar 25, 2008 09:49 am i bought a mac bout three weeks ago, i love it, im using cubase le4.
im still looking for things to do to make it run its best ie settings n stuff. dunno if im looking hard enough or not but cant seem to find much info.
im still learning about it.

Mar 25, 2008 11:09 am This is just my 2 cents, but I wouldn't drop that much on a computer to record with a snowball microphone.
The iMac is cool, I've used them several times in studios and they're up to the task, but like Gee J said, it really depends on your intentions.
