Been using REAPER for a couple of weeks now and I'm liking it.
ANother problem though.
All the tracks in my song are have names changed according to the naming convention I use, G1A, G2A, G1B etc etc.
The problem is, the actual file names stay the same, so when I go into the project directory I cant tell which are useless old files that I just want to delete as they are taking up space on the hard disk. For example, that last song I posted, the project directory is over 600MB, I dont know which files are crap and which ones are being used in the song.

Mar 15, 2008 12:02 pm There is the 'clear project directory' option, which will delete any wave files that don't have a home in your project.
I've used it quite often, as I end up with a ton of crap takes (and 1 good one).
I think there is an option to make the naming convention match the project, but I'm not sure about the actual wave files themselves.

Mar 15, 2008 07:03 pm The way I usually do it is to SaveAs the project to a new folder, most Audio apps have an option to copy all the files being used in a project to the new folder. Once that's done I either delete the old project folder or archive it to a DVD.

Mar 16, 2008 01:47 pm Cheers, PJK, that seems to work. 130 useless files! I re-wrote sections of that song quite a lot though and I was getting used to the TonePort. Hopefully I'm a little less inefficient in future

Mar 17, 2008 12:24 pm my worst is doing drums. 8 mics of takes and I usually end up playing them at least 10 times.
