Some of you may remember back when I first started recording in October, the quality and performance of the music wasn't very good at all; in fact, it downright sucked. My equipment has gotten better, and I've learned various tricks and process' from you all that have helped me get to where I am now, and I thank you all for that.
I'd like to know how I'm doing through the eyes of you guys that have been doing this for a while; that is, I'd like to know how my mixing and mastering skills are, as perceived by you.
So critique, slander, be mean. Have a listen to the new songs on my profile and lemmie know how I can improve.

Mar 14, 2008 08:15 am i think your music has a dark edge to it which i like.
For me personaly, i would look forward to hearing your stuff in a band situation or the like,( drum loops) namley that and some bass guitar.
If you wanted to experiment with some slightly heavier guitars( not choppy heavy, more dark heavy) i would love to collab.

Mar 14, 2008 10:01 pm I'll be listening on Sunday, if I can tear myself away from the rack at 61. :-O
I noticed the new stuff but hadn't had time to listen to anything yet.

Mar 16, 2008 08:44 pm So ya, I have to admit that you seem to have grabbed hold of this recording thing and run ahead full steam. I'm not so sure you fit the rookie status any longer, not that your first mixes really did either though.
I am going to have to give a much better listen to these though as I just had a quick listen tonight. But they sound pretty decent to me. I'm more aware of your song writing though at this point then the mixing. You are actually writing some killer stuff.
I think you are heading in the right direction with what you are doing. I think you are doing just enough changing up as it were to keep things from getting stale.
More later.

Mar 16, 2008 10:36 pm I'd pretty much echo what Noize has said. Song writing is very strong and the mixes are coming along very nicely, sounded very good to me.
