I have been recording music on a small home based studio using various brands of mixing boards including yamaha and mackie . To anyone out there that is just starting up or even fairly established, I would absolutely recommend the xenyx line of mixing equipment. Of course the old adage, more is better does apply as the 2442fx has the most flexibility. I am currently using an 1832fx as the base for a portable multitracking studio. I'm using the track insert capability to generate individual track outputs to a PC based recorder running Cakewalk Pro9. Not the best or the most current but it works consistantly well. As of today, I currently have published 14 local artists and supplied them with the master CD for multiple copy reproduction using this studio setup. More is better.....B*ll S*it.
