There may be buffers sizes to adjust, that may compensate for latency. Also, if you're using MME drivers, then latency will be high. WDM was designed to replace MME, as MME was way difficult. Try using WDM or ASIO interface drivers, if you're not already.

I think ASIO will have its own buffers, dealing directly with the interface, in addition to program buffers.

What are you using as an interface / soundcard? What type PC are you using? specs of PC? etc. More info the better, for us to help you.

PC specs and interface will have a ton to do with latency. $$$ is a good way to improve latency, unfortunately.

The 1222fx is a USB soundcard so I'm presuming your using that into a USB port. The buffer size will be i the options or preferences in audacity most likely under an audio section. You have to lower the buffer size here, if you set it too low youll get audio dropouts and clicks tho so youll have to test it. It'll need a bigger buffer if your recording more tracks simultaeneously.

If this doesnt sort it then you might have to go into the behringer software control panel (if there is one?) for the 1222fx and edit the buffer size there too.

actually, the 1222fx is just a mixer, but behry has been sending along a UCA200 or UCA202, i think as a soundcard type device. It's got 2in/2out -> USB.

It seems to be working as a sales pitch, as there seems to be a metric boatload of them out there =/.

Anyway, the OP doesn't say they're using the UCA200, so I was asking to see if he is actually using it or something else.
