My friend's daughter has experience working with Garageband on Mac's at school [specifically to create her own music], and now she wants a similar program for her home PC. What are some options??

Looks like you can give it a try. Being a GarageBand user myself, I'd be interested to see what it can do...

EDIT: I just watched the demo video at their site. Looks A LOT like GarageBand. Even better, because it accepts VST and VSTi plug-ins. GarageBand only takes AU plug-ins. Hmm...I'm going to download the demo onto my wife's laptop (when she isn't looking) and give it try!
