just another mess with Behringer UCA200

hi all
it's my first time writing here and I'm sorry to write again about UCA200.
I read a lot of post about it, but that weren't enough...
here's my problem:
the UCA200 doesn't even appear in the Windows' Sound e Audio Devices list.
There is only the internal sound card (and the predefined other voices).
I tried to install alternatively the asio2ks, the asio4all, and a driver found in the behringer site (an exe).
the last one was the only that stops windows from asking a driver when I plug the usb.
but the interface still doesn't appear in the sound devices and obviously the mixer doesn't receive any sound from pc and viceversa.

any suggestion? I'm going to despair...

I think it shows up as USB Codec, so maybe you saw this already?

That will be your first hurdle, being sure windows 'sees' the device. Other stuff certainly won't work if that part isn't done yet.

On the good side though, I've heard a few people calling behringer support and having good luck getting resolutions. So this may be a good option for you, if you can't get it on your own.

unfortunately I know.
it appears in the Device Manager as "USB Audio Codec" with a big fxxxing yellow question mark telling me that the driver is not valid.
I'm going to plug it to another notebook to see if the problem is in my pc.
any other help would be appreciated.

ah! I'll try to write to behringer

Well, it was my pc.
I tried plugging the UCA200 in my job's place notebook and it recognized the "USB Audio Codec" immediately.
So, I will end up using the job's one if I won't be able to arrange the other.
And I really can't figure out what's the problem...

You might want to make sure you have USB 2.0 on the PC that wasn't working. I know the UCA won't work at all on USB 1.0.

That and make sure you have the latest drivers for the USB portion of your Mother Board.
