Okay, I'm new here and you've probably heard these questions a thousands times before, but here goes...
I have recently received some studio equipment from someone. He's never really used it. Now I'm trying to set it up. Samplitude is loaded and we're using a behringer desk through the ESP1010. But I only seem to be able to record from channel 1. Is this a hardware problem (maybe the jacks are plugged into the wrong places) or a software problem where I need to set up samplitude. Apparently they have used all 8 channels to record at once before.

You should be able to send channel inserts from the desk to analog inputs 1 - 8 on the ESP1010 box. So you'd have cables between each mixer channel insert, and the esp1010 input (1-8)
I do it with a Yamaha mixer and a ESP1010. Works fine here.
Plug up to the first click on the channel inserts, not all the way in.
You say 'maybe the jacks are plugged in wrong' but then you never say how they're actually plugged in. I hope you can see the objective reader's difficulty.
Give up how the problem areas are setup/ configured in the future, will help us help you more.
I don't know about samplitude, but hopefully you can get it figured out, if the cables are hooked up right.

Feb 17, 2008 10:56 pm Ya, I use a Behringer MX3282 with an ESP 1010 and simply use the sub outs. I don't have any trouble using all 8 inputs and outputs at once.
You do need to make sure Samplitude is seeing all 8 inputs of the interface. That means making certain all 8 drivers are selected and active in Samplitudes properties page.
I have not used Samplitude in a long time but I do no it was able to use multiple i/o's without any trouble.
