I don't have any condensors myself, but I often see people like this one:

Oktava MK-319 Large-Diaphragm Condenser Microphone:

also, check our commonly recommeded gear post at the bottom of www.dbmasters.net/hrc/for...d=491&frm=0

the oktava is horrible in my opinion. i tried it with a few different pres and such and the sound was really tinny. Rode nt1.. good mic. probably the best mic for your case.. you dont want to get stuck with a hundred dollar piece of metal (or plastic) wait it out and save for a good mic, youll thank yourself in the end.

I know this post originally refers to $150 price range, but I'm seriously looking at a Neumann TLM-103. Does anyone have any experience with that mic? Also do you think the price ($700) is a good value for what you are getting compared to perhaps a Rhodes NT1. I have tried the TLM-103 next to a $200 Marshall mic (don't remember the model #) and a $200 ATI?? mic (don't even remember the manufacturer name on this one) and it blew the both of them completely out of the water (testing male vocals). Anyone have any input. (Sorry about all the parentheses).

Hey mogel, let me ask you something. Have you ever even used an MK319? I keep checking your profile for a gear list, or anything at all, and there is nothing. As you can see there are several people here who use and give great review's of the Oktava product's.

Peace to all, and to all a goodnight.

hey mogel, what do you like better about the RT mic? WHat pres did you run it through and what instrument did you try it on? I also suggest that you make a gear list in your profile,t hat way we can all see what you're working with. But yeah, I'd like to know your reasons for badmouthin that mic, not that I really take offense just that most folks seem to like that particular mic.

Yo Gutter!

Don't just dump the ones you don't like on e-bay. It will be increadably hard for me to find out which ones you liked! Sure would like to hear a little more on your findings after you've diddled with then for awhile. The B1 has a nice price tag.
