ok, so i just got my mixer in today and i set everything up, it shows up in garageband and im able to assign the channels to different track and everything but i can't get a signal in the mixer. I tried to plug a guitar in DI and im not getting a signal. i have no idea why

Jan 14, 2008 11:17 pm Did you turn up the trim on the channel? Or it could be called gain. You need to turn that up, to just below clipping.

Jan 14, 2008 11:19 pm Oh yeah, plugging a guitar directly into the line in may not be enough signal. It may be enough, but I wouldn't bank on it.
It's one of those, maybe it'll work, maybe it won't. Either way, you'll need to turn up the gain on that channel.
A preamp would be needed for guitar signal too, to bring it up to line level.
But, for some nice reason, my bass comes in on a line-in on my mixer, with enough signal to record, and does quite well. Go figure =).
Jan 15, 2008 03:43 pm i got everthing working great. and i definately reccomend this mixer/interface. for $230 you can run 10 channels with eq, 4 mic pre amps. im stoked. and it'll actualy be practicly free since i get to sell my old interface and some other gear thanks to this beaut!
