I've been recording on my home PC for some time. I just got a new lap top with a much higher spec and so I now want to upgrade my studio gear. My plan is to get an Mbox 2 Pro Factory with the included protools le. The one thing that I am worried about, is the fact that my laptop OS is Windows Vista Home Prem. I have looked on the digidesign website and it doesnt state anything about vista compatability. Is anyone able to say that both the Mbox 2 and Protools Le definately work on Vista? Thanks everyone!

Actually, DigiDesign has a lot of information about it's compatibility with Vista here->www.digidesign.com/index....mp;itemid=22905
But I wouldn't recommend it; Vista sucks up so much of your computers resources that it barely leaves any for recording, ie ram and processor.

EDIT: Also, after reading closely, it's only compatible with Vista Ultimate and Vista Business. Bummer.

Thanks mate. That is a bummer, but i kow what you mean. Vista does eat up a lot of processor. I might just upgrade my PC then.

I'll warn you right off the bat. You will be wasting your money trying to get that M box set up running at all.

It is a very limited hardware/software combo. They put it out only to lure and lock you into their gear.

Your money is much better spent on a better interface and open ended software that will run on Vista as well as most other OS's.

Sonar was the first to port for Vista, and that includes all version's of Vista.
