My guess for the 2008 dead pool is Britney Spears...she'll be an O.D. story this year.

Other guesses?

How about the generic "Some Rapper & Some Rocker"

I think Britney likes showing her va-jay-jay to the world waaay too much to kick it quite yet. She's a few accidentalonpurpose flashes shy of her lifetime quota so she's bound to this earth for a while longer.

I think that Lohan has a much better chance, she seems wreckless enough to die all coked up in a flaming car crash within 12 months.

Pacman Jones is deep enough in the lifestyle to get a bullet lodged in him within 12 months I bet.

I dunno, Lohan seems to be getting a clue and getting her act together...albeit slowly...Britney is self destructing at an unbelievable pace it seems...after that drama last night it got me figuring she won't rust, she'll go young...kind of a martyr/death of that generation...I can't believe she's actually 26...

Spears, 26, remains at the hospital, where she is undergoing an "evaluation" from various medical professionals. While cops have confirmed the "Gimme More" singer is on "medical hold" at Cedars-Sinai, TMZ reports that she is more accurately being held on a "5150," which indicates authorities believe there's evidence she's a danger to herself as well as others. Us Weekly also reported that as of 3 a.m., Spears was listed as a "special needs" patient. According to People, the star has been placed under a minimum 72-hour lockdown.

Working at a news outlet is kinda cool sometimes, I get to sit and read this stuff...ya just can't make some of this stuff up...

So she's been Baker Acted. She may be on her way to the looney bin, but I don't think she's going anywhere this year.

I think maybe Bob Barker. Gotta love the guy to death, but he's getting up there.

Oh gawd, did you see Dick Clark on the New Year's Eve thing on TV? OMG!!! He looked worse than Pat Sumerall did the last time I saw him, and that's saying something!

Definitely Dick Clark, no way he makes it till summertime. He was just frightening to look at, just a hoarse skeleton. It was depressing, we were wondering why they let him back on the air.

Yeah, I dunno, it's crazy and she's lost it...sadly, I look at her as somewhat of a victim of her parents...never really had a childhood...

Keith Richards goes...(is he still alive?), as does Bob Dylan. Good call on Dick Clark. He's not well. He's going too. I hate to say it, but I fear for the life of whoever wins the Democratic Presidential nomination. The country/world isn't ready for a female/African American President. There's just enough wackiness in this world for someone to make sure it doesn't happen. Allegiances aside, that would be horrible.

I dunno about Hitlery, but if Obama wins, yeah, I'd be watching my back...I think the country would better handle a woman (which is what Hillary is closest to, I suppose) sooner than a racial minority of any sort...

Not to change the subject of the thread...but I've usually voted democrat (surprise, surprise) and I'm having a lot of trouble deciding whom to back. (You Republicans are undoubtedly having similar issues!)

As a democrat, your best candidate is Huckabee...why he is in the Repub party ticket I have no idea...I couldn't vote for a guy that plays a precision bass...

I have little trouble picking myself, Romney has been my man for a while and I have thus far had no reason to falter from that position. Rudy is a close second for me, but not that close.

Actually, I don't know about everywhere else, but here in Baltimore, african americans aren't a minority at all... in fact I think there's more of them than caucasians.

Good call on Keith Richards, but I think he may have a couple more years left in him. (Though the darkness is, indeed, slowly creeping towards him)

But my spoon is too big, indeed. I love that ****!

Obama or Edwards for the realist in me. Kucinich for the idealist in me.

I have respect for libs that back Obama, he seems genuine, if that is your vantage point in life. For the life of me I can't understand why anyone would back Edwards, he is one of the sleaziest, most dishonest, two faced politicians I have seen since I started paying attention...I just don't get it...

I need to hear more from Obama to tell if he's the man that he seems to be. I really liked him at first, then it seemed as if he started getting real political and softening his stances and such. But I like a lot of what he says. Plus he has the best witty line I've yet heard this campaign.

When asked at a debate about all the former Clinton staffers he's been hiring, Hillary started laughing and saying, I'd like to the answer to that. Obama says something along the lines of "I don't know why you're laughing Hillary, I plan to have you on my staff too."

Edwards, is wierd to me. I didn't like him 4 years ago, mainly cuz his smile is super fake, and he just seems fake from the outside. But I saw an interview he did on PBS a couple months ago and he really sold me. I get the feeling that he really does stand for the common man. But more recently, I've been getting the feeling again, that his demeanor just rubs me the wrong way, even if I agree with his politics.

Edit:
Any particular reason why you find Edwards to be sleazy and two face?

Well, the fact he is an ambulance chasing lawyer that has made his millions by suing good doctors and hospitals for fake reasons, in some cases running them out of business, that have been proven wrong, then turns around and says how he can fix the health care system just violates my good sense in ways I can't even comprehend...himself, and people like him are part of the reason our system is failing.

He is a charismatic scumbag who, like most politicians in either of the parties that matter, cares about nobody but himself, his lifestyle has proven that...

He doesn't give a ****, don't let him con ya, look in to the guy, he's a ****** loser. Sadly, I would sooner accept Hillary than him.

Overall, Romney is my man.

OK back on topic :)

Keith Richards is gonna live to be 110. It just seems his way.

I was not aware of Britney's latest issue until after I read this thread the first time - wow. But I'm more worried about Jamie Lynn Spears - who is my daughters TV hero - getting pregnant at 16.

Back off topic *wink/nudge*

Ron Paul is fricking hilarious to me. He is so one track minded it cracks me up. I think his is an idealist philosophy and doesn't account for the real world. That being said, I agree with a lot of what he says, in theory, just don't think its practical.

I had heard this stuff about Edwards before, but without any facts, I don't know whether to believe it all or not. It's easy to say he's an ambulance chaser that has hurt doctors with frivolous lawsuits and that he's part of the problem. But could it be that his lawsuits were valid? Maybe someone got a leg amputated when they were supposed to be going in for a hernia operation. I don't know, but its something I will definitely have to look into before commiting any vote to him.

No, look into it, man, total scam. Blaming doctors for giving kids illnesses for reasons that were nonexistent but he created a buzz that clouded facts...horrible, horrible move that got him rich at the expense of their careers and our court time and tax money.

Ron Paul is a loon, but I like what he says between manic episodes :-)

WTF!?!

Sadly, it was funny...

There's some talk that Bhutto's assassination was somehow linked to the US...

I don't especially think it's a US thing. I do think Musharraf is HEAVILY involved.
There's something fishy there, though. Especially since the "official" story is that she hit her head on the lever of the open roof when ducking from the bomb blast. There's video of the bullets actually hitting her.

Oh, back to the pool...
I have a horrible feeling in my gut that there's something odd about Joni Mitchell suddenly releasing an album.
Hope I'm soooo wrong.

I go for Ron Paul on both counts :)

I do plan on voting for him. but I don't like the generalized extent he wants to reform...but most of the general direction... I think realistically what he could accomplish would be fairly nice... consolidate the intelligence community and reform the Federal Reserve or tax code...and he seem most 'together' on foreign policy as demonstrated vs. Rudy...

He's pulling mad money and I think will be the top collector this quarter overall...

BUT - I think if he does well enough then there is a good chance he will be assassinated because his reforms run against a lot of organizations.

Paul's going to be important this election... he's pulling _democrats_ and has a very activist base... I could definitely see him offered VP with some strong policy considerations in return... that could pull California and New England. But I think _some_ policy considerations are going to be necessary to energize the republican activists after the convention...

We'll see how he does... doing better than expected in one primary isn't much to go on. :)

I think one overlooked possibility with Bhutto was that there were independent attacks at the same time... it doesn't make sense to shoot someone and then blow them up...even if you're trying to cover up a hit...

I think the tax code simplification is almost reason enough to vote for ron paul. Plus I think it would be fun/interesting just to see what would happen if he were elected. But not interesting not enough to get my vote. I'd prolly give him a second place if we had tiered voting though.

Ron Paul would make a good president...

If this was 1804. He just doesn't understand the real world. He's an isolationist and literallist.

Hillary is just plain evil. Every time she opens her mouth it's a lie. She claims 35 years experience in changing the world. Where, how, in what capacity? She says whatever the pollsters tell her the people want to hear.

Romney and McCain are the two best candidates for president.

Dead pool bet:

More innocent kids killed from homicidal teenagers/college age crazy people with s****y parents and peers.

And then everybody blaming everybody else for what happened instead of taking responsibility for creating a self-centered and politically correct too-afraid-of-offending-somebody-to-do-something-about-it society.

Well, on the Dead Pool I will have to go with Kick Clark as well. He almost missed the New Years bash do to some critical thing. I'll agree that Richards looks as if he might be gone this year but you know what they say.

If the bomb goes off today the only things left living on this earth will be cock roaches and Keith Richards.

As for the candidates. Obama lost my vote when he refuses to face the flag or give the pledge of allegiance. That to me is grounds for being booted out of any American political party right there. Who the **** does he think he is?

Hillary, well other then messing with the intern Bill wasn't half bad for a Democrat other then taking credit for things that he really didn't star, he just finished. I'm torn between Romney and Huckleberry and it will be a flip of the coin in the end.

Honestly I don't believe a word that comes out of any of their mouths in the first place. None of it will ever come to fruition. Not as long as the rest of the government is so friggin crooked.

Our political system is so messed up it is a laughable matter. With gas prices on the rise constantly and the war machine just keeps spending more money, soon people will not tolerate it any longer. That means we are looking at a revolution, and it will probably happen in my lifetime.

Back on topic, while I think Britney could indeed be a contender for the Dead Pool I don't see it happening. The big companies are still making money off of her and death would not garner them much more profit...

Yet.

BH, that was low, dirty, and in all respects entirely uncalled for.

(But you still got a giggle out of me)

I mean no disrespect to the guy, but to be entirely honest, I would rather people make smug, smartass comments about me like that than a bunch of reporters and pop-er-nazis tarnish my name forever because I snozed a little blow.

Seriously, all great actors/actresses die young. It's Gods way of pulling his punch; saying, "Just imagine what it'll be like if you ever make it up here!! All the movies will be great:::; and I wrote all the screenplays, so no writers strike!! EVER!!"

But on a very serious level, I would have never guessed him to go, not until after I was gone. He was a good actor and I envy him for getting up on Julia Styles. So let's pull our punches on him, if not for respect, but simply for the sake of our own morality.
