Hey all, we are all tuned to Eb when we play and I was wondering how one would go about transposing Reason to Eb. Can it be done?

Jan 01, 2008 03:23 pm I think you will actually have to just tune the synth you are using. OR if it is a loop the player should be able to re-tune as well. I don't think I have any synths or samplers that aren't able to re tune to whatever I want.
I assume your using Reason 3, so I'm not exactly sure if there is a global tuning or not for the synths.
Coolo would know for sure on that one.

Jan 01, 2008 07:12 pm Basically I rewire Reason 3 into Sonar 6. I would like to use my keyboard but because all the guitars are tuned to Eb the keys are off.
I would have thought there would be a global change that can be done but maybe not...hmmm I'm sure that re-mapping the midi would work but you would think that there is a way to allow for this.

Jan 01, 2008 10:07 pm Ya, depending on the synth you should be able to siply tune it to your key. I'll have a look tomorrow and see if I can find a global setting in Sonar that will allow it. That or a work around hack that might do the trick.

Jan 02, 2008 12:29 pm Hmmm, I don't know about this sort of thing. I don't know about keys, meaning E flat versus something else. I was under the impression you could play any key (again Eb) on the piano... didn't realize you had to tune it differently.

Jan 02, 2008 12:56 pm My Juno lets me transpose on the keyboard, like to change key from C to A. So when I'm playing a C chord, it comes out as an A chord
Maybe the midi notes would be changed as well.
Then just tell your keyboard to key down 1/2, and you may be set.

Jan 02, 2008 01:06 pm Hey! Good call pjk. I'll check into the keyboard aspect. I've been spending all my time in Sonar and Reason and it never even occured to me to look at the keyboard itself.
