Merry Christmas everybody...

It's been another fun year at HRC, interesting year in the world at large.

Thanks for all your continued support from old and new members and all the great content added to the site, fun conversation, lively debates and hostile arguments.

It's been fun, hoping for just as good of a 2008...I am hoping it's much better than 2007...which, for me on a personal level, sucked rocks...it can only get better I am sure.

So have a happy whatever-you-celebrate.

I wish everybody and happy and healthy 2008.

Right back at you. HRC is the gift that keeps on giving every day. I had the pleasure to meet dB during 2007, and I'm going to make a point to meet more of you in 2008. (You listenin', Noize?)

The people around here are top notch!

Merry Christmas to all of you!!

I love this little area of the otherwise mostly pointless WWW. I send dB, Noize, all the mods and members a big bag of happy.

Here's a silly Photoshop of the wife and me.

I should add that the administrators are what set this site apart from a lot of the others.

After reading my last post (I was in a hurry) I'm embarrassed to realize that I forgot to mention Flame (Co-HRC administrator). He is a hell of a guy, a fine musician/producer, and an excellent businessman. He has been generous enough to include me in his ringtone venture, and he's been a breeze to work with. Hats away to you, James.

And to db, Noize, Loki, Bleak, WYD, and Guitar Jim: keep up the work that allows this site to be the best.

First off, to Jim. The boyz and I may be making a little snow mobile trip out your way so we might get to meet sooner then later. And we woulda been making the trip along with dB this summer if things hadn't taken the turn they did.

But as well from the bowls of the PigPen come our best wishes for a great 2008 and a very happy thanx to all those that generated great music and conversation through 2007. Many laughs, and a few tears as well, but all good memories to hold onto.

My thanx go out as well to the members who have really brought this sight farther then it could have gone without you. You guys have helped us make this the best net community out there in my eyes.

Lastly, if ya haven't gotten over to the free Xmas album in the Talking Smack forum get there before 10:00 PM tomorrow and grab some Xmas fun.

Oh ya, Herb!

Looks like some improper touching going on there with that little girl. :-)

A belated merry christmas to all. Wasn't able to grab your holiday collection noize, but I think I got my hands on it a couple years ago when you put it up.

Here's to a wonderful, prosperous, and lively 2008.

Happy holidays to all.

Gotta say that there are few other sites I go to anymore. Too much fun, and information to be had here. My favourite goofing off site (I mean I'm on here instead of working).

The conversation does get somewhat lively here, but it's so much nicer that ANY other site. dB-Wan and the mods/admins see to that. Kudos, gang (oh, that's a plural...should be "Kudoi").

Oh, and Coolo's voice-of-reason takes care of anything else that gets through the filter (ahem...you know who you are...)! Thanks for your cool head, man.

Where the heck is Coco?

It's been a real pleasure speaking with you guys and girls this year. Here's to another magnificent year of HRC.

dB-Wan, I'm in for another year of PRO (as of the 24th of Jan). If you'll have me.

That's the kinda 'typo' that can work either really badly or really well for ya in a contract.

One of my customers wrote up a contract for me to do work for them for a fixed daily rate but didnt specify how long a day actually was. I assumed seven, eight hours, whatever, but checked with them anyway. Turns out they were trying to get me to do a 24 hour day for the price of 7 and hoped I'd sign a years contract agreeing to do it and not notice!

Haha, we had much worse than that when I worked in mobile retail - one member of staff had a guy who was arguing with him over his phone that he'd dropped in some water. He though we should replace it for free, we didnt.

After a while this customer went "this is **ing ridiculous, it's like dealing with an idiot" and the sales guy turned round, dropped the biggest fart I've ever heard and said "I'm going to the toilet" and just walked off!

Happy days indeed

Yeah, retails sucks, I did it for a year or two...I don't have the temperament to be a retail person...I just can't deal with some people...

The fat lady who is full of skin sores and crap, couldn't stand for five minutes while I boot up her computer to see whats wrong with it (washing my hands like crazy out of site)...the know it all kid that is sure he knows more than you about computers, yet brings it to you to fix...the stupid user that keeps installing the same bunk software after being told repeatedly THAT is the source of his problems...

ARGH!

Those are three that stand out.

We had one dude who used to buy credit for his phone every week, blow his nose on the receipt and then put the receipt on one of the shelves for us to collect. He got barred pretty quickly.

Another guy used to lie on the floor under a display of phone chargers and just look at the ceiling until security came.

The best one was 'Mr Angry'. Mr Angry had anger management issues, but never in the shop. When he got mad about something he used to smash his phone. One time he got angry in his car so he threw the phone at someone out of his window. Another time, he got angry in a bar so he hit someone with it and bust the screen. The best time he told us about was when he went on holiday and a seagull was singing on his balcony and it was annoying him cos he was trying to sleep so, guess what, the phone got chucked at the seagull and bust.

Musta sold that guy 50 phones in 2 years, he was great for commission!

I managed to pull 8 months off in a music store. That was all I could stand of retail as well. Never looked back at that one. People can just be stupid and nasty.

Yo Noize, Yet again we share a past experience! I did a quickie stit with Getfiddle Center. What a drag! I'm still trying to get over the image that left me with of musicians. Coupled with the nasty taste of the company I was working for it was a real nightmare. Perfect invironment for everybody to act badly no doubt!
