A little Chrsitmas Present for HRC members

Well this is something I was actually going to use as an HRC Pro recruiting thing. But after a talk with dB we decided it would be better for me to just give it to everyone. Some of the Pro members were allowed to download this before as I have put it up for several years now.

This year will be different. I've uploaded an album of Christmas tunes that I did using only hardware synths. This was before I replaced most of my hardware with software synths.

Anyway it is uploaded as a complete album in a .zip file for you're consumption. It is a 40 meg download for those of you on slower connections so be warned.

Also, I am only leaving this up until 10:00 PM December 25th.

Without further explanation here is the link. Enjoy and Merry Christmas to all you HRC members out there around the globe.

We're doing our Christmas thing tonight, so I'll unzip it then.

Wait, that didn't come out right... :-D

Merry Christamas, Noizemonsta, and everyone.

The intro for God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen reminds me of MJs Thriller

Keith, funny that you caught that. It should sound that way. That arrangement and a couple others were all started back in about 1990. And that particular pieces intro arrangement was indeed a knock of of the thriller intro. You are the first person in 15 years to actually catch that similarity. This album was an on and off work from then until 1995 when it was originally released locally. It was re mastered and released again in 1997. It was kind of done on a dare. It was never sold in major record stores, only at gas stations and marts in the midwest during the holiday season.

I hope the sound isn't too bad as I kind of converted them in a big hurry and wasn't paying much attention to the end product. But they are at 192 so the quality should be OK.

We just listened to the collection as Tambra wrapped presents and I did some housework. Very nice, Noize. Tambra was impressed too. We'll be keeping these for the years to come...

actually, now that keith mentions the thriller reference, away in a manger sounds like something familiar too, but I can't place it.

edit:
Also, I never would've gotten thriller from that if keith hadn't mentioned it. I hear it, now that it's in my mind, but without the suggestion, never would've got it. I really like the big clap/snare on that part of the track though!

edit 2: and silent night is sounding like some old fleetwood mac or something. definitely familiar, but can't place it again. I need answers Noize!

edit 3: the intro to silent night is screaming to be sampled, looped and given some drums and rapped over...maybe some guitar for the hook.

Away in a Manger's arrangement was influenced by Jimmy buffet.

Silent Night influenced by Bob Welch from solo material released during his final Fleetwood Mac days.

And as far as the loop goes. Check yer email tomorrow.
