Sounds like a buffer issue to me if it only happens when adding to the computers work load. Try your latency buffer at 64 and work your way up, doubling it each time. If you reach 1024 and still have a problem, I don't know what to tell ya.

i ll try that man..thanx...in cubase.in the project setup..i have it at 44.100 and 16 bits..and should i change it to record at wave files instead of broadcaste wave files that it is allready there?and should i change anything else at the project setup?i think i had the audio interface to record at 44.100 and 24 bits an i forgot to change it in the project setup to 24 and it recorded at 16..maybe thats the problem?i dont think so eh?

This started only after you installed the free and shetty plug?

If you crashed cubase / windows repeatedly, then you may have messed up something in the windows files/registry.

Windows doesn't like to be shutdown without shutting itself down. I think it's a lot better than it used to be, but still, it could cause your problem.

If that is the case, then reinstalling cubase would be an easy first step. It only takes a little time, and it's free.

are your sample rates the same in cubase aswell as in the fireface's driver? that can cause clicking....also the buffer/lantency settings can be causing it...try raising the buffers on both the interface (rme) and the recording software (cubase).

what was wrong with your cubase 3 and presonus setup? we have a saying here in the states....if it's not broken, then don't fix it.

I'll put my 2 cents in here . . . I experienced a similar problem, though with a different DAW. I was getting terrible clicking and ultimately a shutdown of the software--all because of a plug-in. Though mine was native to an earlier version of the program, it was apparently incompatible with the newer version. Cappellino, get rid of the plug-in completely (the "shitty" one you mentioned); you must remove it from the program. shut off all other plug-ins. Remove any previous versions of Cubase, as well as any extra versions of any other software that runs in conjunction with Cubase/Presonus. One more thing: I assume you are running a newer computer? I might have missed an earlier post in which you listed your equipment. A slow computer simply won't run the gear you have. Good luck . . . my "cure" is something of a long shot, but you should try it anyway.

guys!the cpu crashed...i wont open..i open it and its working but it shows a black screen..and its dead...i just gave it to my technician to do me format and he told me that if it shows a black screen when it opens its a graphics card problem..does cubase or the audio interface has anything to do with the graphics card?this pc its only for mucis..i dont have anything else inside..or i do anything else...i have a pc for my work and another for internet and stuff...why this happend?i cant understand..i dont use any programs exept cubase on my music pc..why the graphics card has crashed?

The programs use the card to display their graphics, of course, but I doubt if Cubase caused the graphics card to malfunction, if that is what in fact happened. You don't have any internet at all on the music computer? How did you get that plug-in into your music software? I ask because it sounds like you may have a virus in your machine.
Unfortunately, I don't know what kind of computer you have, what it's running, etc. Tell me (us) more about your system; we can't attempt to diagnose what we can't see and know nothing about. As it stands right now, your situation is very vague and confusing without more info.
