What to do prior to upgrading from Sonar PE4 to PE7?

Folks, I have just ordered the upgrade from PE 4 to PE7. Anyone have any experience installing PE 7? I was wondering, do I need to uninstall PE4? Will the installation be pretty seamless?
Thanks so much in advance, as I get ready to install this beast!

Don't uninstall S-PE 4, just install over top of it. I just did this yesterday upgrading from 6.2 to 7.1 and it's pretty seamless. You'll LOVE 7.1 too!! It's got so much more to it than the older versions it not even funny. (Damn you Noize for making me take a closer look at it! lmao) Sonar 7 is amazing though.

it's only 179$ US. Might be more coming from 3 though.

And I know what you mean about not being able to afford it... I put it on credit, lol. But 179$ for what PE7 offers is a steal. Seriously a giant lead for PC kind. I personally believe it surpasses pro tools and its quest to take over the recording world. For me, there's a new standard.

I you want WYD, I'll think really hard about you getting it for C-mas... maybe I can 'will' it to you as a gift, lol...... if only life were that easy.

Thanks so much for your help and advice. Sounds like great news - although my needs are relatively few, it will be nice to be able to play with all the new toys!
Thanks again!

Keep in mind as I'm on my way to work that I'm reading Sonar 7 PDFs when I'm not moving. There's just that much more to it. Awesome upgrade, awesome program.

it's easy, just put your right hand in a 'reverse C' shape, than cross your middle and ring finger on the left, a thumb tucked in represents PE, wheras the thumb outward is SE...it's on page 2 of the manual.

that was the most detailed description of the official sonar gang sign i could give...try it in front of a mirror and you'll get it.

and i'm not cluttering, i'm entertaining those fellow recordists that are stuck in traffic.

Just remember you don't actually install over the top so to speak. It will install into its own directory titled Sonar 7 PE. And you will pretty much want to install everything on the disc if you are upgrading from 4.

Enjoy!

Sonar, its a way of life! :-)

WYD, upgrade from 3 would be $249.00. That is for any upgrade from 1 through 4. Then the price starts to drop from 5 on up.

Not if you save some of your pennies.

It isn't that hard to get there. 6 fewer cigs a day, 3 fewer beers a day and your there in no time.
