Yep, that is onle problem exporting and burning directly from an application like Reason that does not maximize the audio for burning. When you do an export from Reason try maximizing the volume on your master output before mixdown. Also, if in iTunes you have a normalizing pluggin or a volume maximizer use it. That is why we all use mastering type pluggins to attain the loudness of the finished product. Either in a DAW such as Sonar or a 2 track app such as Wavelab or SoundForge. These tow applications come with tools to make it easier to get that loudness level up on the finished CD.

Oh ya, welcome to HRC by the way.

You have several pluggins in DP including Ozone 3. www.motu.com/products/sof...4-06.0433678891

I suggest either going straight for the Loudness Maximizer or using the Multiband Dynamics processor depending on exactly what you want to do.

If your output meter says close to 0db on stuff, then it should be loud.

Can you use something else to burn with?

I know in some programs (burners) it will try to automatically adjust levels for you. Maybe something like that is happening.

I assume you're on a Mac, and I don't know jack about mac, so I can't offer much more than that.

so, you can use the mastering suite combinator in 4.0 to maximize the sound on the reason track. It should also give it some more punch. Aside from that, check what pjk said, and see if your burning program is normalizing the files or something to that effect.

not necessarily true, that's just a peak meter and has little to do with perceived volume (RMS)....

load the entire stereo mixdown back into DP and throw a limiter on it....you can definitely bring up the volume with that (to a point).

read up on mastering some.
