My SEQUEL mixing is going nowhere. I get static, pitch swings. After some research it appears I have a cheap _ss soundcard. Sound Blaster 24 bit by Creative Labs.
I record EXTERNAL to computer using a stand-alone Boss BR8. All I want to do is mixdown the wave files on the computer.
Please recommend a better sound card that can handle the correct buffer size to avoid the drop-offs in sound and static yet to this with low enough latency.
Thanks

Dec 04, 2007 10:46 am I use an M-Audio 2496. It's wunderbar. $100.

Dec 04, 2007 10:50 am I would concur.
If you plan to record through the interface, then the Line6 UX2 would be a good alternative.
If you're not recording anything with it, then I'd go for the 2496, or an ESI Juli@.
I think dB stated lower latency with the ESI, but it's a little more $$$.

Dec 05, 2007 03:53 pm Yep, if your looking to just have something to do the mixing with that is a nice stereo or two channel audio card that 2496 can't be beat.
As well as the ESI Juli@ which is pretty much about the same type card. But it does give you the option of using either RCA or 1/4" connections with the flip of the card.
