ok i'm trying (once again) to get sound out of this POS, and i think i've got the problem down to this issue...

in device manager, when i check the pci interface it says "working properly" but it's obviously not....so i think i have to manually tell it that there is indeed something there (i think i did this for my usb connections aswell, but can't remember how).

my next guess is it's a mobo/bios issue, but yeah my computer's pci slots are definitely not responding to anything.

There should be a motherboard 'reset to defaults' type of option in the motherboard bios.

If you haven't changed anything major otherwise, then this should be a painless operation.

If you've had to change a bunch of things in bios, to get other things to run, then I would at least right down all the settings, or create a backup if possible.

If that doesn't do anything, I'd next go to the MB website and DL new bios for MB. Apply bios may jolt the PCI bus back into operation.
