kudos to percy faith and his orchestra. merry christmas johnny mathis is a great xmas album, and percy faith and his 50s orchestral stylings are a major reason!

I just never could get behind xmas music. It just seems like a novelty to me, like the birthday song or something.

A somewhat interesting side note: did you know that "Happy Birthday" is actually still under copyright?

Anyways, I always liked the Little Drummer Boy when I was little but that was about it.

No the best Christmas music is done by Trans Siberian Orchestra and Manheim Steamroller or Chip Davis if you prefer. They are my two favorite Xmas music bands.

I'll catch the video's tomorrow. But ya, Mathis has that sweet voice that is just pure.

Yep, Mathis has the smoothest voice. Him and Nat King Cole. Check some of his Christmas stuff out as well if you like that old style.

OH yes!!!

The Pogues with Kristy MacColl. Although the original female vocalist Cait O'Riordan was stellar it was the duets between Shane MacGowan and Kristy that were so good sounding. Nothing like melding Irish folk and punk to get the holiday spirit bubbling.

Nice find for sure Hujambo!
