Suggestions?

Got a chance last night to throw together a rough mix of a song I just finished tracking. Any suggestions on the direction the mix should be heading or things that stick out? If you say editing, I will kill your firstborn, seriously. Song will be uploaded in 5. I it lacks a bit of mids eh? And the hats could probably come up?

Oh, its going to have a fade out (usually do it in mastering) and I just strapped a comp on the master for mixing so no comments of the loudness please.

Thanks for the input!

I will give it a quick listen tonight but save any comments till tomorrow, until I can crank it up a bit.

WoW!

That is come pretty cool pop for sure. It reminded me of something but I can't remember at the moment.

Like I said, I didn't get to listen loud enough to judge the mix yet, but on a quiet listen it sounds pretty tight. I liked the drums, they just kinda reached out and grabbed at ya in certain parts. The twangy guitar parts sounded pretty cool as well. Lotsa presence on em.

Is this you guys or someone else? Either way, cool tune.

Personal opinion here, I liked the ending just as it was. I would not fade it at all. Just my opinion here, it gives it a really cool vibe for the end.

I'll be back tomorrow with more when I get a better listen.

Its a local band in Australia. Glad you like the song Noize and thanks for the feedback.

I'll talk about the fade out to the boys then, see what they're thinking. Yup, every beat of every drum hit has been edited haha. Tightness is my new vice.

I don't know if this is normal for songs or not, but it's the first time i've ever noticed it...

Especially at the end, it felt like i was sitting in the drummer's seat... low toms on the right, higher toms on the left... maybe it's because of my headphones? I don't know, but I liked it.

sounds awesome... cool song too...

Thanks man. Toms were recorded with 421's with a little bit of the room mics (B-2's) mixed in. Any suggestions for the mix?

Comments on the mix, that's what I do...

I think hats are panned too far left for my taste (listening in headphones).

Also, I think the bass might be just a tad bit heavy.

But everything sounds really clean/professional!! Good work!

No worries man!

Cheers Coolo. Agree with you on the hats actually, sounds a bit fake, and I'm known for mixing the bass too heavy for peoples tastes so will turn it down.
