What app do you have? Adobe Audition can do this easily.

For a small fee, I can.... ah, j/k.

Reaper will open AIF. Then save them as wav.

Ya tony, if you don't manage to find one zip it up and send me a link and I'll convert it for you. I have not used any free converter software for going from AIFF to Wav so I can't recommend any off the bat.

Thanks all. I have learned that Acid 6.0 seems to open AIF OK, and that iTunes can do the conversion.

I also learned that the guy who sent me the files may have screwed up because they are all empty except for one.

Could someone with an apple see if they can download this and see if there is any data in the files (it's in 1 or 2)

tony, I show 10 tracks and the 2 other files. I've gotta give one of my sons friends a ride home and I'll import em to check content when I get back in about 45 minutes or so and let you know.

OK, unzipped em and they all show as if there is data content there. But imported them into Sonar, Wavelab and SoundForge and the only track that has any audio is track 3 which is marked Guitar.

Funny enough though they all show up as a bit over 38 meg files. Even in Quicktime they all open but only the Guitar track has actual audio on it. I guess he sent ya bunk files or something happened in compression. Speaking of which all but the guitar track show 100% compression while the guitar track only shows 38%.

Yep 100% compression suggests there is nothing in the file. The guitar track is left track stereo only also :)

I'll ask him to do it again.

Yep, I forgot to state that, but it is only the left channel.

I use MelodyCan for converting. It is simple to install, easy to use and fast to convert!

I'm with you, Hue. I'll be reading along and thinking "WTF?", and then I'll realize it's a thread from about four years ago that someone resurrected for some unknown reason. Good fun!
