Looking for Software Recommendations

So far I have been very pleased with the recommendations I have recieved so far. I think Har-Bal is a great mastering tool that is easy to learn and use but still has the ability to really fine tune mixes. And Magneto is a plug-in that I would not mix without! I was wondering what people would recommend for a CD BURNING program. I am looking for the ability to insert track changes whenever I like and the ability to create a secret song (like when you play the first track backwards. Or is this done in the mixing process. Anyways thank you all for your input this site has helped me tremondously and I will be plugging in some homebrewed tracks on the site soon!

Well Nero just released version 8 and it has everything, and I do mean everything you need for any kind of burning. I used to use another program along with Nero 7, but not anymore. 8 is killer and complete.

mastering apps like Sony's Peak or Steinberg's Wave Lab are great, but a bit more pricey....cd authoring is half of the art of mastering.

I like Nero as well...the Ultra edition is really so much more than a burning app, man, it's great.

you guys really use nero over wavelab to burn (i know you both have each app)? i'm not claiming heresy here, but still....wave lab is a 'pro' mastering/authoring app, and (to me) nero is just a real good burner....what am i missing out on here feature-wise? i've got nero 5 (i think) but i hardly ever use it....i use wav lab 100% of the time when burning audio cd's.

Oh WYD, 7 Ultra was the bomb and now 8 has taken it even further by adding even more. You can now author DVD and so on. In 7 Ultra they introduced just about any option for combo burning and arranging you can think of. And they do support the use pf pluggins in there as well if you really need it. But my tracks are always burn ready when they get to Nero. When I prep a project for tranfer to DVD Nero is the killer app to use, I can compress the project or not before burning. And arranging and multi mode CD/DVD are all included in the app. You should go check it out. 7 was miles away from 5 for sure.

I have other apps like CD/DVD architect and Bronze Welder and such and I prefer using Nero over any of those now. Its faster and less cumbersome.
