I don't use Acid, so...what driver are using for recording? IMO an ASIO driver is best (opposed to MME or DX I think they are). I don't know much about the how or what of the driver differences, but I do know that ASIO always works with the least latency for me. Also turn off any other programs that aren't necessary.

You'll have to be more clear with the definition of "good soundcard" If it's a good soundcard for gaming and music playback it's not necessarily good for recording. You need a proper recording soundcard to avoid lag.

In Acid you can change drivers under Preferences/Audio Device. Try some other settings, also look for ASIO4ALL which is a global driver you can use. Hard drive speed can also be a factor as can system memory, also don't use MONITOR ON on the tracks in Acid, just let it play back through the master bus.

So if I get this right, you are getting a delay only on playback, not while recording? That is very odd. What kind of delay are you getting, something like the track doesn't seem lined up with the sound or are you hearing an echo of sorts?

well, when i record, i put the metronome on so i can stay on beat... so i know 100 percent im staying on beat... but when i playback the record... it is off beat :S i don't use a driver so i guess i will try that out... and on the other hand, i return the sound card because it was doing the samething.... so i use that money to buy RAM so i got 1 GB of DIMM RAM... but still doing the samething... im spending so much money to get this to work :S lol please help

you may want to fill out your profile with your equipment (details on the computer and sound card) and stuff so people can make more informed suggestions...

OK, this is kind of pointing to the sound card itself then. Exactly what brand and model of sound card are you using? This will really help us find were you are having a problem.
