I bought this at a used music store for 50 bucks. It does what I want, but, is there a special midi required? Where might I find this? Also, the comments regarding the distortion, I agree that the distortion is not great, however, the rest is great for the price!

What do you mean Quote:

From what i understand it's has your standard Midi I/O
Give a little more info and we should be able to help you out!
Sep 24, 2007 05:53 am MIDI is not REQUIRED, but it can use MIDI to make quicker access from patch to patch in a live situation. Otherwise, in a studio situation you can do it all from the front panel as I recall...I used to have one, thats a 15 year old device I believe, other than the distortion it was pretty decent too...the distortion sucked though, one of the first cracks at digital dirt.
Sep 25, 2007 03:30 pm Thanks, I wasn't sure if a standard switching pedal would work because of the age. Maybe I was calling the MIDI the wrong device.I would like to scroll thru the effects via a foot switch, is this called a MIDI? Thanks again
Sep 25, 2007 03:37 pm No, you're right, it is MIDI, it's MIDI data telling it which patch to go to and all that stuff. I had a little four (or so) button MIDI foot-switch thing I could preprogram a couple buttons to clean and dirty and set the other two to scroll up and down thru the patches. As I recall it's like 128 different patches available with loads of options inside each patch. Just don't use it to generate distortion, it's sucky, but the spacial stuff, chorus, reverb and delays are pretty decent.
