Cubase LE audio mixdown problems

I've been doing some recording for my friend today (using his computer), but for some reason when i've mixed down the files to a wav. file they will not play on Windows media player or real player, it's as if there is nothing in the file just the file icon. as when i press play it plays for a millisecond then stops. i am very very confused as have not had this problem when converting and listening to stuff of my own. i have checked all settings and everything appears to be exactly the same as when i record for myself.
can anyone help???

Yup checked that, will double check again today when i see my friend, but i'm pretty sure it's not that. think i'm gonna try and re-install cubase and see if it helps
