Hey its me again,

I'm trying to find a recording interface... that will record at LEAST 4 channels simultaneously to my computer. I'm having a hard time finding something that will accomplish that and is in my price range...

I have about $150-$165 to spend - ish.

I also (as my last post talked about) have been looking into the Alesis Multimix12 FireWire, mixer.. this is $236.. I'm not sure if I will have the cash in enough time to win the auction, which is why I'm asking for other suggestions. :)

Thanks again!

Does the multimix 12 do 4 outputs to the computer. I am frequently confused but I thought it only did 2 :)

Thats been my whole question.. Ive talked to sales people at online and in store retailers and i keep getting different answers... i've been told... 2 simultaneous tracks... I've been told 4... and I've even been told all 12 will be individual computer tracks...

I have the Firewire 12.

You can take all 12 tracks individually through firewire into a computer, and there are actually 2 additional outputs that are stereo mixes from the mixer settings itself, incase you just want to mix it on the mixer and record it as is.

It works pretty darn well.

Seems pretty clear to me. Plus, the manual I linked to showed 12 inputs listed in cubase LE, so there's two opinions pointing to 12 inputs. I'd take that to the bank.

(if you buy from major retailers, you can probably return it if it doesn't meet your needs).

You will find that if you don't want to go PCI then firewire is the only interface at the moment that will send more then 2 channels of audio to the PC at once. USB will not do it at the moment, only 2 channels, or stereo mix if you will.
