Check the sample rate of the MP3. I'm not sure of the requirements but i don't think they can be too high.

It's also checking for valid header info and encoding info...since changing the way I validate mp3's, you are the first one to have any problems at all that I have heard of.

Also be sure the file isn't bigger than your space allotment.

... I've had troubles uploading any higher than 44100/192.

What are the properties of the MP3? Are they higher than 44100/192?

I'll have to dig in to that validator a little...so far it's the best I have seen, but nothing is perfect, and just opening up completely isn't an option...

If it's limited to 44.1/192 thats not bad, but knowing it would be cool so at least I can say so...some consistency in the formats that are on the site is good, but I don't wanna be like MySpace that crushes the hell out of everything.

44.1/192 is great. No problems there.

Ok so i put my tracks to 44.1 what about the bit depth? Would that have anything to do with it?

192 refers to the bitrate.

It means 192 kilobits (192,000 digital bits) per second are transferred as the sound is played. This differs from the sample rate, i.e., 44.1 kHz, which is the amount of times the signal is "listened to" as it is recorded, in one second.

Rule of thumb: The higher the sample rate, the better the frequency response. The higher the bitrate, the better the clarity. Increases in either or both, add to the size of an mp3 file.

A bitrate of 128 is considered by many to be acceptable, but lately, 192 is gaining more acceptance as a better standard for mp3 listening.

Bit depth governs the overall dynamic range. 16 bits are plenty to start with. They'll give you 96 dB. Let us know if you need more.
