I have both,
since getting fruity loops (3 months ago)I haven`t
even touched hammerhead!I suppose its opinion but fruity loops has WAY more to offer.I honestly feel its a far more advanced program with many more options open to ya.But then again I never really dug to deep into hammerhead(because of fruity). My advice? try`em both and you decide.

hammerhead was my first drum sequencer. FruityLoops is 50x more powerful, easy, but then again Hammerhead *is* free. I like the stutter-gate in hammerhead, at least i think that was hammerhead with the gate... i dunno, it's been so long since i used hammerhead. crap, maybe i'm thinking of Taureg. oh well.

download the fruity demo from fruityloops.com and see for yourself. here's a little trick: the demo doesn't save, but it *does* export to wav!! ;O) -j

Hammerhead is great for the price, er, lack of price...but I as well got FruityLoops and rarely used Hammerhead since.

Agreed, I tried Hammerhead and went back to programing in Sonar. But I still use and prefer Fruity for most of it's other quality's. It is a very usable app.
