My vocals over a karaoke track again. This one was a LOT tougher getting the dynamics right. I HATE recording with a flat EQ on the mic, it sounds so... flat, but it does give more flexibilty during post-processing. 6+ hrs for this tune.

Aug 09, 2007 12:01 am Hi Tomkat. I'll be honest with you, I read "karaoke track" and was about to unfairly just move on without a listen. I'm glad that I didn't. You did a nice job and have a great voice. Keep at it and post more, I'd love to hear more. Sorry about the snap judgment too! :)

Aug 09, 2007 08:18 am Nice job. you're voice fits that genre quite well.
You've done the tweaking very nicely as well.
Seems you're time spent is paying off =).

Aug 09, 2007 11:11 am Thanks for the kind words, very cool!
I have to admit, I'm still not 100% satisfied, as I can't seem to completely get rid of that "homemade" sound.
Part of it could just be my singing, though. :P
One thing I quickly found out, is just how much I'm a little "off" on some notes, which is really frustrating, because I don't always hear it until I listen to the recorded track. It's also quite an eye-opener, and somewhat humbling, as I really thought I was singing better, hehe.
I've learned so much from this forum about setup, recording, post-processing, etc, and for that I am very grateful.
It's helped me make recordings that sound IMMENSELY better than some attempts I made a couple years ago, which is very encouraging, so I'll definitely keep at it.
