Aug 04, 2007 10:42 pm Most of the newer laptops with a dual core will work well. I will second the gig of ram or better as well. This will help with most all the recording applications out there now.
A 7200 RPM 2.5" hard drive for a laptop is difficult to find. A good solution is an external USB or firewire drive for use as an audio only drive. Most recording applications now let you specify were you want the recorded audio to go so an external drive is great and will really help keep speed and stability up.
You will also want to look into either a USB or firewire audio interface as laptop sound cards are an absolute PITA to get to work in a multi track recording situation.
What kind of budget do you have for software and the like?
