Ok, so i've had cubase for about 4 months now done alot of recording using it but i havn't managed to set up the mics so i can set up 2 audio tracks up and 2 mics up and put a mic through each audio track, at the moment i plug 2 mics into my mixer and get one track up and record, it just records both mics onto one track. Could someone link me somewhere or tell me know how to sort this out?

pan your channels on the mixer hard left and hard right, set your channel input in cubase to mono left, then on the other track in cubase set it to mono right.

Yep, you need to arm two mono tracks to record. Set one track to listen to the left input only and the other track to listen to the right input only. You'll be good to go then.

if your mixer has a firewire cable commin' out of it (like a mackie onyx), yes. you need an audio interface for your computer that will have individual inputs for individual tracks....not just a mixer.

I'd skip the mixer and just get like a Firepod or something. 8 pres into your computer. I've had a lot of success with one back in the day.
