dbmasters, you recently suggested me the UB1204FX-PRO Eurorack Mixer.

Would the Behringer MX802A Eurorack Compact Mixer
do the job ? Or would I really be better off with the 1204 ?

Would it work? Sure it would, but the 1204 has some extra out busses which I have found VERY valuable when monitoring tracks while laying another as it gives more control over the volumes plus it has some pretty nice effects onboard, which is nice.

That said, I had the 802 for a while and it is nice mixer, just doesn't have quite the functionality I have personally grown to need.

For twice the price it's 5 times the mixer. However, you may not need it...I have never had a session with you so I really don't know how you do things...I personally have found the UB series mixer the superior mixer and still for the very reasonable price, which is why I recommend them.

So, in answer, yes and yes. Yes the 802 may do the job and yes, you would be better off with the 1204.

How's that for a "Not Answer" :-)

I wish I could be more specific, but without knowing the details of where you plan to go I always err on the side of over-kill :-)

If you do online shopping and can buy from Musician's Friend, please buy through our links and help support HRC :-)

Unfortunately, Musician's Friend won't ship to Canada :(

I called a big store in Montreal and they don't have the 1204, is there something very comparable in Mackie or other great brands ?

update :

I settled for the 1002 which was the same price as the 802 (the store had a deal on the 1002). I don't have the effects, but it looks like a nice unit :)
