how do i use MIDI programs with my electric drumset? and can i use the drum sounds from garage band? if so, how do i do it? thank you

Jul 27, 2007 07:31 am I can't speak specifically for garage band, since I have never used it, but, I can speak in theory.
You need to record your drum track as MIDI data into your tracking program (GB in this case), after the MIDI is recorded, you can appli any sample to the MIDI notes via a softsynth like Native Instruments Battery or whatever.

Jul 30, 2007 06:37 pm Hopefully guitar jim will show up here as he uses garageband. I assume from what I have read it comes with a drum synth and a couple of others as well.
You simply need to set the drum synth up as it describes in the help section. It should set up a midi track along with an audio track that the synth resides in. Simply record the drum note midi data on the midi track and then it will playback on the drum synth track.
