Ok, so I make synth loops or drum loops in fruity loops and export them to the desktop and then import them to sonar... I've done it that way for years, it's always worked... But 2 nights ago this began... I import the wav as usual and it sounds like it's skipping or dragging, the song is playing normally, only the wav is messed up. I checked the wav by opening it in windows media player and The wav is fine before I import it... PLEASE Someone help me....

Dude, judging by the way you seem to be having frequent and unusual behavior of Sonar I would say your system may need a rebuld. You might get away with a re-install of Sonar but I doubt that would work.

Are you saying that this imported track won't play on its own in Sonar or did you import it to an existing project with other tracks? If WMP can play it and Sonar won't then I think a re-build might help. I doubt that it has anything to do wiht buffers if it won't play on its own.

If it were me, I would backup my **** and format and start from scratch.

yeah, I imported it to an existing project... all existing tracks play un effected and the imported track sounds crappy/pixelated.

I am going to try to have someone nuke and re-install my computers guts... I hope that works...

hang on a sec. Trying bringing that track into a new file. A plugin on the old file might be causing the problem.

yeah, i'd guess it's FL that's the problem....can you open your exported FL track in your default audio player (winamp, real, itunes etc.)? does it play 'normal' in those?

Who'syourdaddy00, yes it plays perfectly normal in my default audio player.

Me, I am still confused and frustrated.

In Sonar 6 options/audio make sure you have import files at native bit depth as it may be that it is not a matching bit depth. Sonar 6 is now able to do a project with multiple bit depth files used so if that is not checked it may be trying to convert a file that can't be converted.

Also, are you aware of the fact that there is one hell of a loop construction set up in Sonar as well. I use either it or Project 5 for all my loop work.

No I diddnt even think to look at loop construction. I am so usedto using fruity loops and untill now it always worked... It didn't cross my mind. What is it called?

Its just called the loop construction view. If you build a quick loop in the regular track view simply double click it or right click to open the context menu and choose loop construction view.

Ok I checked and yes, it is set to import files at native depth... I exported something out of sonar and back into it, and it went fine, so It's defenatley something wierd with the program... Hey, dumb question, if I buy a new p.c. and it has windows vista, will sonar6 still run???

Butt monkeys!

So I deleted and re-installed both sonar6 and fruity loops, and still not any better. I made shure the import settings are set to origional bit rates and even tried exact bit rates, still sounds like it has an echo on it...

WHY IS THIS HAPPENING?!?!?!?!? I diddn't do anything!
What the HELL!

Oh man, an echo. Try turning the input echo off. Let me know if that works for you. IF not I think there is one other setting that Sonar can overide on most audio interfaces.

Also, what sound card are you using? That might have a lot to do with what is happening.

Hercules Game theatre (the blue breakout box one)... It wasnt a bad card when I first bought it, now I bet it's a 5.00 card...

Yep, that could be the root of the problem right there. That card was never meant to be used as a full duplex audio card. That means it was not capable of doing audio in at the same time as audio out without some hiccups.
