If I record in this machine:
tascam.com/details;8,17,60.html
How would I create the final mixdown and mastering on the computer, is it possible?
I have a mac.
If not whats the cheapest machine that records for computer.

How many outputs does it have? I presume just a stereo output, not four individual outs one for each channel.
If that is the case you run your main outputs into the inputs of your sound card and record it in something like Garage Band, which, if you have a newer Mac, should be on it.
Jul 22, 2007 12:53 am plug your recorder's "line output" to your computer's "line input". mix, then add software to taste...best if served hot.
Jul 22, 2007 01:57 pm What kind of Mac do you have? (It matters.) For example, I have a Mac Mini and it doesn't have a Line In, but i have a firewire audio interface to use. But, yes, if you have a line in then just run a cable from your Tascam's line out into the computer's line in. (Isn't that what I said in the other thread?)
