I news anchor was talking about some new item for sale at a local fast food chain and priced at, not three-fifty, but the anchor actually said "three-fiddy".

pfffffft...get off the "they lean so far right" bandwagon, it's so tired...just cuz every other channel leans left it throws off the scale. Get a grip.

This was the guy www.myfoxtwincities.com/m...mp;pageId=5.3.1

WYD, I take it you didn't catch the part about it being a PUB on wheel's. You can serve beer on the thing.

dB, though I don't get to watching too much TV indeed she is worth "hitten".

I'm personally mourning professional journalism in all of its forms. Ever since we had a front page story (top of the page, no less) in the Sunday paper about Hooters doing away with "School-Girl Thursdays," I've just given up hope.

Granted, I was very disappointed to see School-Girl Thursdays go, but that's still not front-page news...

Does any network channel have decent programming, I would suggest no. There is very few decent shows on network TV at all...

Yeah, God forbid one channel not be leaning left...

I find it funny that people still beat the "Fox news is too conservative" about a channel that braodcasts The Simpsons, American Dad, Family Guy, Ultimate Fighting and other such shows.

OOOOHHH! good one...

i think the "fox is far right" mostly applies to the Fox News Channel...very different than the network's content.

i say throw your television out the window, and notice i didn't say tv, tv is a nickname and nicknames are for friends, and television is certainly no friend of mine. *mr. show quote*

i've been without a tv for 4 years now *pat myself on the back* and i don't miss it one bit....of course i'm out of the loop when all my friends talk about the latest commercial or show or whatever.

The Brits would have to lose a whole lotta class to bring NASCAR over there...

We Americans have no problem losing class. Sometimes we brag about it. Kinda like when I crop-dusted the halls at work yesterday and laughed about it later with friends...

I disagree. There was a news person somewhere, thinking that nascar fans were a bunch of no-good-nics, beer-swilling, troublemakers.

( i'm struggling to remember the exact details . . . but the message is the same )

He thought he'd set up a sting, wherein he'd 'accidentally' loose his wallet, with camera's rolling from afar, and watch some hill-billy steal it.

To his suprise, not one person stole the wallet, instead, each one actively getting the wallet back to the guy, and being polite, courteous, etc.

The guy was somewhat shocked, and enlightened, that the class of people at nascar events was rather high.

If anyone can remember the exact event, please post, as I don't think I got it exactly correct. But it was something very similar, anyway.

don't get "class" and "honesty" confuddled as being synonymous.

You can have a whole lot of class, and not be the most honest person. Although, honesty does affect class a bit... but they aren't the same. People who work for what they have seem to be a bit more honest about stealing other people's stuff. Those who steal what they have, well we all know what they do...

just to touch on the political bias of new shows... ahem ahem, in my opinion, this news shows lean to the left stuff is a crock. It leans to the right, and FOX news leans waaaaaay to the right. but that's just my opinion.

and how anyone can watch NASCAR or golf, and be excited by it is beyond me. Now crash up derby, that's entertainment!

Don't a lot of people watch NASCAR with the hope that it'll become a crash-up derby? That'd be the only reason for me.

Flame, the UK has some stellar racing of its own if you ask me. But heck ya, Nascar in the UK would be killer!

And indeed, the class of the type of stock car racing fan has changed over time. The track dB is talking about is a little south of us. There is a closer track that is a bit on the dingy side that is a little bull ring a bit under a 1/4 mile. Elko which is just short of a half mile is the track dB is talking about. Its the one the boyz and I go to pretty regular and they have really done it up nicely. Clean, nice seating and some pretty interesting change ups throughout the season. If you want to see stuff getting wrecked then go to one of the Eve of Destruction nights. If you wanna see good racing go on the regular season Saturday nights. The boyz are trying to talk me into building one of the Legands class cars. Little jobbers powered by 1000cc Yamaha engines and pushing a hell of a lot of horse power for a car that maybe weighs in at 500 pounds. They are almost faster then the big V8 powered late model beasts that compete on the midwest touring circuit.

Regardless it is just good clean fun.

See dB, I can use it proper like when I want to.

yeah, that's cuz the fights are expected...now if one dies on the mat....that may perk my interest for a few mins....

not that i wish pain/death on sports ppl....i'm simply just not interested...performance athletics IS an artform all to itself, which i can respect...it's just plain boaring to me...notice i didn't even mention football!

i like 'sports' that you can smoke and drink beer while playing! like Texas Hold'em, put-putt, bowling, pool, darts, and disc golf, yeah now there's some sports i can dig into!

I could smoke and drink beer while driving a stock car. Hell, I think they used to do it that way in the early years.

Nascar just rocks, nuff said. I simply dig racing on as a whole. some not as interesting as others, but there is something about the noise and smell of it.

As a side note, I'm kicking some major butt in our fantasy Nascar league. I think I am now in 2nd place and things look promising for the rest of the season.
