Some of you might've listened to some of my songs a while back when I posted them. I've got 3 new songs (Linear Dimension, Automatic Recognition, Alientation (Fake I.D.)) on Myspace. Feel free to comment the music, the lyrics, the playing and especially the mix. I'm actually going to record the vocals again and do the mixing/mastering all over again pretty soon, so any constructive comment will be gladly taken. Feel free to leave feedback on Myspace comments too!
Thanks!

Jun 10, 2007 12:48 am I'll try and give a listen tomorrow. Its time to go vedge out for a while now.
Jun 24, 2007 11:28 pm Linear Dimension - interesting progression and time signature changes. voice is kind of nasally at times but overall not bad. nice harmonies. really like the break around 2:15, it's very pretty.
Automation Recognition - its pretty nice, i don't really know what to say about it. drags on a bit at times.
Alienation (Fake ID) - holy Coldplay, batman. they could probably sue you over that first part. its not bad.
i listened to some of Graveyard of Regrets too. it was kind of pretty. your voice almost reminds me of elliott smith at times.
overall it was enjoyable. linear dimension was my favorite. personally i'd like to hear some upbeat songs from you. also i think some of your melodies could use some work. i get the feeling that melodies are built around the chords and that you're just singing the first notes that pop into your head and sound halfway decent.

Jun 28, 2007 11:04 am automatic was a nice listen- calm and soothing.
sounds like you play piano with BOTH hands. really nice song- nice vox. good stuff.
Jun 30, 2007 05:35 pm Thanks to everyone for the comments, I'm still working on those songs as well as new ones and every constructive comment is really helpful. (and yes I did change that piano riff since it sounded so much like Clocks, I really hadn't noticed before you told me :| )
One thing though... am I not supposed to play piano with BOTH hands? >_> Or do a lot of people play with one hand? I'm not sure how I should take that comment haha.
Jun 30, 2007 05:38 pm I think that was a compliment. Kinda like when people would remark that I sounded like a drum machine. Uhh, wha..? OK.
Edit - Oh, and I listened to your recordings, and I like.

Jul 01, 2007 04:57 pm alot of self taught, non music reading guitar players (like me) play the ryth piano with one hand, then on another track play the lead piano. It happens... go multi-track recording!
Jul 01, 2007 11:59 pm That makes more sense now ;)
I guess that would compare to the cheap ways I record electric guitar because I'm so bad at playing it >_>. (i.e.: playing it like a slide guitar, etc.)
I am a piano/keyboard player so I have no trouble playing with both hands. Guitar, on the other hand, is another story...
Jul 11, 2007 07:50 pm I just made a first mixdown of my new song:
www.yousendit.com/transfe...8939DD0328A9603
Lyrics:
One’s a pretentious run
Covered of blood
The prettiest hoax
Black holes and a toy
Too small to handle
Invisible clothes
Fakes muscles and fear
Of breaking them up
Others all fit in a mold
All soft ‘round the edge
With no car to drive
And candles to light
No ashes to freeze
No rocks and no stars
Just machines to boot
But then…
Before the dusk comes a time
When everything falls apart and
Skyscrapers turn upside down
Fragments of memories
Come into our dream and
The wake-up call is dawn’s…
Intervention
Looks that kill
Rushing towards the sun
Glowing around our aura
Censorship
Police officers
The day is swirling away
Shadows in shades of grey
The rainbow’s alienation
Singing while…
The bells are ringing with raw precision
Buildings dancing in merry explosions
Before the dusk comes a time
When everything falls apart and
Skyscrapers turn upside down
Fragments of memories
Come into our dream and
The wake-up call is dawn’s…
Intervention
Looks that kill
Rushing towards the sun
Glowing around our aura
Censorship
Police officers

Jul 12, 2007 07:52 pm the link would not connect at the moment. I'll try again later.
You do realize you have 10mb of space you can use here and it will be available in your profile.
simply go to the manage my music link of your profile and your in.
Jul 13, 2007 12:34 pm The link should work right now.
I actually didn't know about the 10mb space! That's great, but I'm going to use it for another song, since this one is actually 9 minutes and won't fit unless I use 128kbps bitrate.
Thanks for the tip.
