Hallo gentlemen/gentlewomen!
I need a good microphone to record my traks, I need to rec voices, guitars, bassguitars and acoustics.
The problem is that I'm f.ing short of cash...
I need a good advice!
I'd like to know your opinion upon these condenser mics:
-Akg c 1000
-Akg c 2000
-Behringer B 1 STUDIO CONDENSER
-Samson C 01
Which one would you choose?
Any suggestion?
Thanks a lot Filippo from Italy..

Jan 15, 2003 10:07 am Right, lets go through your choices.
The AKG C1000 is a small diaphram condensor, it is mostly suited for behing used as a drum overhead, but can also be used for guitar mic'ing and vocal - however, it's not really cut out for these tasks as it can't handle the more heigh end SPL's - as a result, close cab mic'ing is slightly out of the question.
The AKG C2000B excells as an insturment mic - it works very well on brass and acoustic, vocals can often be a touch bland on it.
I've personally never experienced the Behringer model, but I've heard many good things about it and it appears to have a very flat frequency response (which can be good, depending on what you are wanting to do with it)
I've read a review of the Samson C01, and it was rated very favourably, it seems to be suited for recording vocals, but it could also easily be used for close mic'ing guitar cabs.
I would personally reccomend a Rode NT-1 (service.bfast.com/bfast/c...p;bfmtype=gear) - I bought one of these recently and was suprised by the quality in relation to the price.
Hope that helped in some way.
