great article. hawkins has done it. it just makes so much sense. real AI? hells yeah!

What an awesome development. I've followed AI dev in bits and pieces throughout the years, and this one is a doosey.

Maybe not real AI, but very good pattern recognition, and algorithmic decision making.

Fascinating stuff. I can't wait to see more of it.

He's also looking at time and the universe . . . maybe he'll need to make a time machine to go back in time to kill his skynet system =(.

hmmm . . . sounds like a movie in there somewhere . . .

i always thought that real AI would be fundamentally alien in some way. so this fits the bill. in other words, i'm not sure i ever thought that the goal of AI should be create machines that act like humans. as long as you get actual thinking happening, i think that suffices. this looks like the process behind thinking (pattern matching and memory of a particular kind) has been cracked at last. so for me it qualifies as real AI because it was sort of what i was looking for. emotionless, raw thinking.
