I'm trying to record into Garage Band. I'm running a mic into an eight-channel Behringer mixer and I set the Mac drivers to accept the 1/8" line input on the side. I was running a 1/4"-1/8" cable from the main out into the Mac, but wasn't getting any input. All levels on the mixer were good and signal was definitely going out. Is there a discrepancy in the levels still between the main outs and the Mac's input? Would it be better to try the RCA outs?
thanks

May 03, 2007 08:13 pm I went into the mac preferences and set it to line in. I'm just wondering if there's still a level problem, if what's coming out of the main outs still needs to go through a pre-amp or a DI.

double post, in case anyones wondering.
May 05, 2007 04:21 am nah, anykind of 'main out' is prolly runnin' at line level, so you won't need a preamp there...
i don't think this is a problem, but is your cable balanced (TRS or stereo) gooin' into the line in on your computer?
hey, where'd the hrc TRS logo thing go?...i was gonna use that as an example.
