Apr 24, 2007 01:35 pm This is excellent.
My personal taste makes me cringe at the "Kenny G" sound 'sax' - but that's all me (a guitar line in the same place would have been quite fabulous!). Don't feel slighted, it's not meant in any way but a personal opinion.
That said, the recording is quite wonderful. Good levels, nice tones (ahem....the...er...sax thing...you know....), clean recording. I'm listening on work PC speakers, so I haven't got the ol' audio scalpel out.
I Love the girl's voice, and the song is very strong. Welcome to HRC. Good start!
Post more. I'll be stealing some of your ideas! Hehe...

All in all it's pretty good. But I prefer to do evil critiques :)
Vocals: There was some enunciation problems and I think when she sang low she was out of her range.
Bass: Drives me nuts... It just sounds like the general midi bass guitar to me... no meat...
Sax: Sax was fine with me
Drums: ballad drumming rule #1... during choruses use the ride cymbol instead of the highhat.
Song in total: pretty standard P&W but it literally turned into a trance intro at the end. The electronica 'stuff' earlier in the song didn't fit IMO.
Apr 25, 2007 03:00 am Feedback appreciated and noted. This recording was done about 2 years ago but I mixed it again last week, just to see what I've learned. As I have done it for free that time (why..) I was lazy and had the keys, drums and bass (all from a sound module) recorded as one stereo track - mistake as I could'nt adjust the individual volumes for those afterwards. I should still have the midi somewhere and try again, using some of your suggetions.
Cheers!
