I'd be very oblidged if someone could help me setup my new midi controller...

I have several programs such as Native Instruments Absynth and the Korg Legacy collection, lots more...

So here's the deal. I bought a midisport uno controller today. I installed the software and the updated drivers.

I have everything connected, casio wk1630 midi in and out connected to the maudio usb controller into a usb 2.0 slot on my pc.

I have win xp so there's usually a little plug and play thingie when I plug something in. I have no lights registering on the midi controller.

What do I need to do to set it up to where I can control the keyboard sounds in my programs. I looked in my soundcard setting and didn't see a maudio or uno device to choose from....

PLEASE help me

thank you very much

Did it try to install drivers? IF not you need to get windows to install it as it will probably use the generic USB codec drivers. Unless it came with an install disc, then use that.

I aldready installed the drivers from the installation disk, even though it's supposed to be plug and play and have also gone into device manager and cannot find it in there as well.

Yeah, it might be a USB codec, instead of a Maudio thing.

that's kinda reaching though, it could be whatever they feel like naming it.

I'd try their website, to get a newer updated driver, if possible. I've had packaged CD drivers bonk up my machine before (on something else) so it's worth a try. Midisport is kinda getting old, s a newer driver is certainly a possibility.

When you get them, make sure you uninstall the old drivers, before you install the new ones.

I'm curious, did it ever do the P&P thing in XP? Is there a light on the midisport? does it light up when plugged in?

You can try different usb slots, maybe one is a little cogily (what a fun word, cogily).

If none of that works, try a different machine, and observe the device's, and the PC's, actions. Lights, windows mouse changes, etc. It all helps to troubleshoot.

Your still using Cool Edit Pro I take it? OR have you switched to something else? If I am not mistaken cool Edit Pro did not do midi. If it does then you will have a midi options or preferences section like the audio section were you simply select the Uno as the interface for input and output and your good to go.

Otherwise is looks as though you are going to need to upgrade to something with midi.

As for finding it in the windows device manager you will need to look under sound, video and game tab or under the USB devices tab. It will probably not have a name related to M-Audio in there.
