How can I be sure my PC is using the ASIO drivers and not the WDM?? I am using WinXP Home and Adobe Audition 2.0. In Audition when I go into Hardware setup it shows ASIO drivers are in effect, but in Windows when I go into Hardware Device Manager and Sound Controllers it doesn't show anything with the word ASIO there, I think it has Presonus Windows Audio or something like that. Should there be a listing in my Device Manager Sound Controllers that literally says ASIO??

Depends on the device, mine have typically showed the WDM and ASIO versions of any driver...that said, I have never really worried too much what driver the OS uses, I just worry about what driver the apps I work in use.

Have you tried the WDM drivers (assuming your device has them) to see if they work as well as the ASIO?

Just a couple cents from me as well. Typically windows and most media players like WinAmp and the like will only use the WDM or MME drivers. They as well as Windows Media player cannot see the ASIO drivers, and so will not use them. Most WDM drivers these days will work almsot as good as the ASIO drivers and in some cases better.
