Alesis Multimix/Cubase Issues: monitoring

Hello everyone,

I'm new here, but for the time I've been looking over this forum I've found a lot of useful information . I've finally got a problem that I couldn't seem to find an answer for though.

I have the Alesis Multimix 16, the Firewire version.
Everything has installed correctly so far since I've just gotten it today. But since it says that I need to change the Audio Playback device to the Multimix Output , as well as changing the Recording Device, I can't listen to what I've recorded. I can monitor my levels and all with the headphones in the mixer but if I want to listen back to what I've recorded or listen back to it to record a track overtop of that, I can't!

I know the simple thing would be to switch the playback device back to the sound card, but when I do that, I go into Cubase and hit play on the track and hear nothing. The only way I can hear it is if I go to the folder where the tracks are being saved and listen to it as a WAV file or whichever it was saving it as.

How can I monitor my levels through the mixer while being able to listen back to what I've recorded at the same time??

Thanks a lot,
Kevin

Do you have the audio output of the already recorded tracks assigned to the Alesis?
