Tom Cruise jokes and such are getting tired but I find this funny...

I have never seen a guy work so hard to kill his own career, but he is certainly doing it.

Anyone heard of this benefit he is reportedly charging like $100,000 per tables of 8 to attend to raise money for his Scientology-based treatment program for 9/11 rescue workers. Word I heard is that the medical community is laughing at it (not that I have 100% trust in our medical community either) and during the "treatment" given right after 9/11 at least two rescue workers left their families and joined Scientology after the treatments.

I don't know a lot about what Scientology has evolved into, but I have read some of Hubbard's work, the most basic of which is mostly just common sense, the deeper works get kind of odd so I pretty much stopped reading it.

Given how absolutely rediculas much of Scientology is (making even mainstream religion seem plausible to many by comparison) I am wondering what these hollywood types get out of it...Tom Cruise is a lousy example, he's a big arrogant jerk just gets media attention and whatever, but the quieter of those involved Like Travolta, Leah Remini (man, that was disappointing to read) and others that are not so in your face about it...

I dunno, just figured it'd make for interesting conversation maybe.

I think it starts out as a "this is the thing to do" type thing, cause everyones doing it, and then they all get brainwashed into staying... I don't see any other reason a reasonabile person would be involved with it other than brainwashing.

a lot of famous people arnt as right in the head as the come off to be. they are different...because they have been treated different they're entire life. Im not saying thats an excuse, but im sure it has soemthing to do with it.

I agree with that, the people that are (more) right in the head are often times the people that didn't find fame until later in life...the people like Cruise, who found fame pretty young, are all fuckered up and really don't understand a thing about normal life.

either way it's hard to lump people into catigories. Sam Jackson found fame late in life, so to speak( he was in his late 30's), even though he's the man, he's also made some goofy *** choices. Scientology ..well i studied a number of cases and i'll hit you up on the side bar about that dB.
