Hi
Was the Soundcraft Spirit 328XD ever £7000-£8000. Also when did it come out. I looked on google but couldn't find much about those two catagories.

Jan 15, 2007 10:08 pm Depending on the adders yes it was in that range. Remember it was and still is a high end digital mixer/controller. I think it sill still bring about £4500 to £5000 these days. I know a few road crews for large touting shows that suppliment their main desk with them for Monitor mixers or direct to digital out of the main desk. I know a few who even used them for straight up live rigs. They were fully automated as well and a true digital desk.

Jan 16, 2007 10:01 pm The GB8 series unit you are looking at in that price range is a 16 channel 4 buss analog mixer. A comparable GB8 that would come close but not have any of the functions of the 328XD would cost around $7400.00 US. The 328XD is a fully automated digital console with ten times the routing options and much finer EQ and buss architecture then the GB8 units. Now that is not saying the BG8 is a slouch by any stretch. The picture they show for the GB8 is the 48 channel live recording desk and is a much higher price then the 16 channel unit.
