Well sadly to say, no there are not really any more user friendly digital recorders out there with the kind of bells and whistle's that one has. There are a couple that are very bare bones that might be only slightly more user friendly, but I have seen a few post's of confused user's of those units as well.
I downloaded and had a quick once over of the manual for your unit though and it appears to have a very good overview which describes the unit and its functions very well and with pretty decent detail. There is as well a very complete quick start section that you could jump to once you have read through the over view to get familiar with the unit.
I think most of the units today you will find are about the same as far as the units being user friendly. I know that isn't the news you wanted to hear, but it is the reality of the tech advancements on these things.
