Ok, so I put everything in my rack, and to save my back i don't wanna have to pull the rack out everytime i wanna patch something. So heres what I need help with:

I have my compressor, weird effect box, reverb box (which I still neede to figure out why it doesn't work), and mic pre in the rack. I want the compressor to be set on insert points on my mixer (which can just be permanently wired, no need of patching). I want the reverb unit and weird sounds unit to be able to either have an instrument go directly into them, and the output of the unit into a an amplifier, or have them on an effects loop depending on what I'm doing. I want the mic pre to be able to either go straight into the soundcard or to be put on a channel on the mixer to DI guitar and bass.

Am I asking too much? is this even possible? I've fought with the patch bay before and lost. Help me.

Loki do you want you mixers insert points on the patch bay as well? It is a really easy thing to set up. I think I sent you an email on setting it up like two years ago or something like that.

You'll need some like 1 foot patch cables and stuff for the getting the processors patched into the back. Then you'll need some other's to get you to the mixer and such.

Speaking of the mixer, do you want any of the channels patched in as well?

noise - we talked about it but kinda let it drop before.

Can I put insert points on the patch bay? Yeah I wanna do that... but what would putting the mixer channels on the patchbay?

Yep, you can patch the inserts into the patch bay. I'll need to know the model and type of circuit it runs thought, normalled, half normalled whatever.

You can run the line ins to the patch bay incase someone needs to plug in maybe a synth or drum machine line outputs.

It's a AP patch bay, and I think it's normalled, but I can switch the inputs on it or whatever to make em de-normaled or half normaled (?)... I don't really know what that means. I'll pick up some patch cables tommorow and start playing around.

OK that is a a start. IS it a switch that will change it or do you have to flip the cards around and such?
